Marking system for steel tubes
According to standard EN 10020, steel is defined as a material, where the weight percentage of iron is higher than that of any other element, and carbon content (C) is less than 2%, which is the usual boundary between steel and cast iron.

The EN ECISS IC10 Standard provides additional symbols for steels (Groups 1 and 2). These symbols are placed at the end of the mark of the steel (S 275 J0).
In addition, symbols are added to steel products. These are separated from the previous symbols by a plus sign (S 275 J0+A).

EN 10027-2 contains the system of numerical marking.
The first number is 1 – steel, followed by two digits steel group and of the serial number of steel.

Carbon equivalent
Based on the agreement maximum value of carbon equivalent (CEV) as a measure of the weldability of steel according to the formula may be set up:
CEQ = C + Mn /6 + (Cr + Mo + V)/5 + (Ni + Cu)/15

Condition and marking of the heat treatment of tubes according to EN 10052 and EN 10305-1
+C Cold drawn / hard. After the last cold forming with no heat treatment.
+LC Cold drawn / soft. After the last heat treatment there is a subsequent slight finishing pass (cold drawing).
+SR Cold drawn and annealed to remove stresses. After the final cold drawing tubes are annealed in a protective atmosphere to remove the tension.
+A After the final cold drawing tubes are annealed (soft) in a protective atmosphere.
+N Normalized. After the final cold drawing tubes are normalized in a protective atmosphere.

Selection of tests shall be governed by relevant standards that apply to individual products and by customer requirements.

Creep tests (creep) according to standards EN ISO 204, ASTM E139
Creep tests are not subject of tube acceptance, steel is long-term tested during the verification of the production technology.

Yield creep RT (t / A / T) is the strain that during the time t at temperature T causes A (%) mean of permanent elongation
measured length of the trial bar. e.g. A = 1% for 10 000 hours at 500 ° C – RT 10 000/1/500 = 70 MPa.

Creep tests (creep)
Stress-rupture RmT (t / T) is the strain at which permanent operation at temperature T is the mean time to fracture t. e.g.
stress of 100 MPa causes at the temperature of 600 ° C for 10 000 hours fracture of part – RMT 10 000/600 = 100 MPa.
Data are presented in the Annexes of standards and may be used for calculations. At present, in practice, the second
value is used and for strength calculations it is compared with the below creep area of the yield strength at higher temperatures.
The lower value is always used.

Tests of metal fatigue – are not included in the TDP for the tubes delivery.

Tests of the technological properties of tubes
Bending test according to EN ISO 8491, ASTM A53, ASTM A106, GOST 3728
The test examines the ability of plastic deformation in metallic tubes of circular cross section. The tube bends around the
pulleys with the specified radius, up to a prescribed angle. While this is being done, visible cracks are not allowed to form.
Tubes tested are with a diameter of 60,3 mm.

Test by flattening according to EN ISO 8492, ASTM A450, ASTM A530, ASTM A999, ASTM A1016, GOST 8695
The sample is flattened between the plates until the distance between them reaches a value H prescribed by standard.
This depends on the steel, forming constant C and the tube dimensions.After the test, the samples must not have visible cracks and fissures.

Flaring test according to EN ISO 8493, ASTM A 450, ASTM A1016, GOST 8694
The sample is expanded by a tapered mandrel until the percentage of flaring of the outside diameter obtains values stated in standard.
After the test, the samples must not have visible cracks and fissures.

The test is performed to a diameter of 150 mm and wall thickness 10 mm.

Flanging test according to EN ISO 8494, ASTM A 450, ASTM A1016
The samples end is formed into a flange, which lies in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the tube until value reaches the value
of the outside diameter of flange, which is determined in the standard of the product.

Ring expanding test (ring test) according to EN ISO 8495
The test ring is expanded by a mandrel until it fractures. On the surface, in addition to the fracture may not be visible cracks and fissures.

The report is issued on the basis of non-specific control.

Inspection documents issued on the basis of specific controls
Inspection Certificate 3.1,
is issued by an authority (manufacturer’s production unit) which is independent department and is validated by the manufacturers
authorized inspection representative. A 3.1 Material Certificate is endorsed only by the manufactures own representative who has to
be independent from the manufacturing process and it is an inspection certificate that declares the ‘metallic products’ are in compliance
with the order requirements and supply test results carried out on the basis of specific controls.

Inspection Certificate 3.2,
provides the most assurance of a material’s properties. It independently declare that the products or material supplied by a
manufacturer meet the requirements of the buyer’s order, stating the results of the tests carried out on the basis of a specific check.

the inspection carried out by the manufacturer with his usual procedures to ascertain whether the products meet the requirements
stated in the order, the controlled products do not have to be part of the delivery.

Specific control
the inspection performed by the manufacturer in accordance with the relevant product specification to determine whether the products
meet the requirements stated in the order, the tests must be carried out on the delivered products or on the products of the test unit
that are part of the delivery.

Tests
By testing the tubes, it is proven that the properties of the tubes are consistent with the requirements of the order, relevant standards and customer specifications. The tests may be:

mandatory tests resulting from the requirements of individual standards and customer specifications,
optional tests agreed upon when ordering the tubes by selecting from a selection of optional tests of individual standards,
customers’ specific requirements to perform the tests (beyond the mandatory and optional tests of individual standards and customer specifications)
